Molding Compounds
#80 Latexis a vulcanizeable Natural Latex compounded from specially processed Latex with a solid content of between 68 and 70 percent, which minimizes shrinkage. Number 80 is therefore suitable for making rubber molds by painting, brushing or spraying. The special method of compounding, and its high solid content, permit reproduction of the finest detail. Its major uses have been in the manufacture resin figures, ornamental wax candles, and isostatic molding bags.
#874 Latexhas been developed by Cementex Latex Corporation for those who wish to make figurines or products out of cement or plaster. #874 Latex is low ammonia formulation of approximately 68% solids. It produces a superior mold of extraordinary resistance to the pouring of concrete and plaster. The #874 Latex produces fine line detail, gives long mold life and remains flexible for long periods of time.
Ceco Powderis a filler for natural latex. It is a specialty blend of various powders and surfactants, which, when mixed into natural latex, thickens the coats applied after the first few coats of latex have been applied to the mold. It permits the mold maker to reach a desired thickness in the in far less time with fewer coating applications. It will also increase the strength of the rubber mold. When used in conjunction with natural latex, excellent tear strength is produced.
Castor Oilis an excellent release agent for natural latex molds that are made for pouring cement. Cementex Castor Oil also has a rejuvenating effect upon natural latex and will usually bring it back to its natural consistency after it has been repeatedly used.

Castor Oil is also a release agent between a natural latex mold and a plaster back-up shell.
