Latexis a vulcanizeable Natural Latex compounded from
specially processed Latex with a solid content of between
68 and 70 percent, which minimizes shrinkage. Number 80
is therefore suitable for making rubber molds by painting,
brushing or spraying. The special method of compounding,
and its high solid content, permit reproduction of the finest
detail. Its major uses have been in the manufacture resin
figures, ornamental wax candles, and isostatic molding bags.

Latexhas been developed by Cementex Latex Corporation
for those who wish to make figurines or products out of
cement or plaster. #874 Latex is low ammonia formulation
of approximately 68% solids. It produces a superior mold
of extraordinary resistance to the pouring of concrete and
plaster. The #874 Latex produces fine line detail, gives
long mold life and remains flexible for long periods of
time. |

Ceco
Powderis a filler for natural latex. It is a specialty
blend of various powders and surfactants, which, when mixed into natural
latex, thickens the coats applied after the first few coats
of latex have been applied to the mold. It permits the mold maker to reach a desired thickness
in the in far less time with fewer coating applications.
It will also increase the strength of the rubber mold. When
used in conjunction with natural latex, excellent tear strength is produced. |
Castor
Oilis an excellent release agent for natural latex molds that are made for pouring cement. Cementex Castor
Oil also has a rejuvenating effect upon natural latex and will usually bring it back to its natural consistency after it
has been repeatedly used.
Castor Oil is also a release agent
between a natural latex mold and a plaster back-up shell. |
